Inter director Beppe Marotta has been released from hospital after 10 days of treatment for COVID-19.

The former Sampdoria and Juventus chief will be home for his 64th birthday next week.

Reports from the Gazzetta dello Sport and Sport Mediaset claim Marotta has been released from the Humanitas hospital in Rozzano after an improvement in his condition.

He had been in the clinic for observation and treatment since March 11.

Inter are in the middle of a COVID-19 outbreak, which has affected Samir Handanovic, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Stefan de Vrij and Matias Vecino.

This prompted tonight’s scheduled Serie A match against Sassuolo to be postponed.
