Paris Saint-Germain have announced Alessandro Florenzi has tested positive for coronavirus after his return from the Italy squad.
The outbreak in the Azzurri squad after the World Cup Qualifiers included positive cases for PSG midfielder Marco Verratti and Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci, in addition to other members of the technical staff.
“Following the last Sars-Cov2 PCR test, Alessandro Florenzi is confirmed positive,” PSG wrote in a statement.
“He will therefore respect isolation and is subject to the appropriate health protocol. As a reminder, the player had been isolated for a few days as a precaution.”
Florenzi and Verratti are thus out of PSG’s match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.
