Juventus have announced Federico Bernardeschi has tested positive for coronavirus.
The cluster of positive cases after the World Cup Qualifiers has increased, as the Bianconeri announced Bernardeschi is the third player to test positive for COVID-19 at Juventus.
Merih Demiral and Leonardo Bonucci returned from international duties having contracted the virus and were placed in isolation.
Alessandro Florenzi, Marco Verratti, Salvatore Sirigu, Vincenzo Grifo and Alessio Crago had tested positive after returning from the Italy retreat, and now Bernardeschi.
“Juventus Football Club announce that, during the checks provided for by the protocol in force, Federico Bernardeschi’s positivity to COVID-19 has emerged,” the club wrote.
“The player is in isolation and asymptomatic. The club remains in contact with the health authorities following the protocols envisaged to allow training and competition activities for the Team Group.”
