Walter Mazzarri believes Napoli will go “1,000km/h” against Siena in tomorrow’s Coppa Italia semi-final, but is confused by refereeing controversy.

The Partenopei need a win to reach the Final, having lost the first leg 2-1 at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

“A very difficult game awaits us and we have got to win it all together,” said the Coach ahead of Wednesday’s clash.

“The fans must help the team and I hope we’ll have a full house cheering us on, especially as we need to overturn the result.”

Ezequiel Lavezzi and Christian Maggio missed Sunday’s game with Udinese, while Marek Hamsik only played in the second half.

“I still have some doubts about who to play, as there are a few who are carrying knocks and I want to see how they are doing.

“Siena can be happy with two out of three results, so we’ve got to be wary not to leave ourselves too exposed to the counter-attack. It will take great concentration and it means we’ve got to be more clinical than in the first leg. We must play at 1,000km/h.”

Now that Napoli are out of the Champions League, the Coppa Italia represents their only hope of winning some silverware.

“It won’t be like winning the Scudetto, but it remains a very important competition for me,” continued Mazzarri.

“Winning could help the team to grow. I lost the Final with Sampdoria on penalties, but the satisfaction of getting there by beating Inter was wonderful.”

There was controversy after Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Udinese, as the Friulani bitterly complained at the red card and penalty incidents.

“I always try to give my opinion. Against Parma we were helped by refereeing errors in our favour and I confirmed that to President Tommaso Ghirardi. In all honesty, I didn’t see that situation in Udine. People need a little more balance sometimes.”
