Marchisio: ‘No VAR in Serie A’

Juventus legend Claudio Marchisio noticed mistakes from Juventus-Napoli referee Maurizio Mariani: ‘There’s no VAR in Serie A.’

Both Napoli and Juventus had penalty appeals rejected in the first half of their Allianz Stadium meeting.

Juventus were 1-0 up when Hirving Lozano tackled Federico Chiesa inside the Bianconeri’s box, but the contact occurred only after he had passed the ball and was practically off the field.

Napoli had penalty appeals rejected for an Alex Sandro trip on Zielinski. Again, the referee and VAR waved play.

Former Italy and Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio joined those protesting on Twitter.

“As it happened in the World Cup Qualifiers, there’s no VAR in Serie A either. Hopefully, to goal-line technology works, you never know…”
