Milan coach Stefano Pioli said the Rossoneri never thought about the Scudetto, but just less than a month ago he was eager to fight for the title.
Ahead of Saturday’s match against Parma, the Diavolo coach was asked if he was disappointed after the 1-1 draw with Sampdoria helped Inter increase the gap to 11 points at the top.

Ahead of Saturday’s match against Parma, the Diavolo coach was asked if he was disappointed after the 1-1 draw with Sampdoria helped Inter increase the gap to 11 points at the top.
“You are the only one who spoke about the Scudetto, the wind blows away the words,” the coach responded at the press conference.
He then underlined that the Champions League was the main target for the club and that the Rossoneri continue to work for a place among the top four in Italy.
But after the 3-2 win over Fiorentina ahead of the international break, Pioli said the Rossoneri were still fighting for the Scudetto.
“We’re not that far away now and we have the quality to play every single game for a victory. Whether we achieve it is another matter, but we can certainly try,” the coach said after keeping the Scudetto hopes alive.
Even if Pioli seems to have changed his perspective in recent weeks, Franck Kessie stressed already in December last year that the target was to qualify for the Champions League.
“Our target is to qualify for the Champions League,” he said after the 2-1 win against Sampdoria on December 7.
“The dream is to get a Champions League place.”
