Carrarese announce they have appointed former Udinese striker Antonio Di Natale as their new head coach to replace Silvio Baldini.

Baldini had handed his resignation with the Tuscans sitting 15th in the Serie C table.

"After holding talks with several coaches, Carrarese have opted to choose Antonio Di Natale as their new head coach," the club have announced in an official statement.

"A person of undisputed football fame and undoubted ability and technical skills."

Di Natale began a FIGC coaching course in September and must still get his coaching badges.

"Appropriate requests will be made to the FIGC Technical Department to allow Di Natale, in derogation, to take charge fully," Carrarese clarified.

Di Natale is a former Empoli and Udinese striker.

He is the sixth-best goal scorer in Serie A's history with 209 goals netted during his playing career.
