UEFA have fined Red Star Belgrade after Zlatan Ibrahimovic was subjected to racist abuse during the Europa League game with Milan.
Ibrahimovic was on the bench during the Round of 32 fixture in Belgrade in February.
It was meant to be played behind closed doors, yet someone – as yet unidentified – was caught hurling insults at the Sweden international.
His family originated from Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia, so the UEFA disciplinary committee confirmed racist insults and ‘provocative, offensive chanting.’
UEFA have fined Red Star Belgrade €25,000 and ordered their next UEFA home game to be played behind closed doors.
There is also a second stadium ban that has been deferred for one year on probation.
In addition, the club was fined €5,000 for breaching COVID protocols by allowing some fans in and not enforcing social distancing measures.
