Solskjaer: 'Roma-Man Utd a proper European tie'

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ‘looking forward to’ the Europa League semi-final against Roma. ‘It feels like a proper European tie.’

The Giallorossi knocked Ajax out 3-2 on aggregate, winning 2-1 in Amsterdam and drawing 1-1 at the Olimpico this evening.

As for the Reds, they brushed Granada aside 4-0 on aggregate, with 2-0 victories home and away.

“I've not seen too much of Roma. I knew they played two good games against Ajax. They defend well, as Italian teams always do. We all know Edin Dzeko, so every ball into the box is a dangerous one,” Solskjaer told BT Sport.

“We are looking forward to it. We're in the semis. It feels like a proper European tie because Roma is a club with lots of history. We've done well against Italian sides before.

“We're going into it hoping to get to the final. If we can finish the season with a trophy that'd be great.”

The first leg is at Old Trafford on April 29, with the decider at the Stadio Olimpico on May 6.
