Domenico Berardi celebrates his 101st goal in the Sassuolo jersey after inspiring a victory over Fiorentina, but admits Roberto De Zerbi could leave.

He made his comeback from injury, coming off the bench to convert two penalties and turn the game around for a 3-1 win.

“It has been a difficult period, as I picked up an injury on international duty and it was a pity to miss two of the three games there. I wasn’t at 100 per cent today, but I am glad that I managed to help the team,” Berardi told Sky Sport Italia.

The equaliser was his 100th competitive goal for Sassuolo, followed moments later by the 101st.

“I feel at home here, I try to honour the jersey every single time that I wear it. I try to be myself and give my all for Sassuolo. If I got to 101 goals, it must mean something.

“I have grown both mentally and in terms of performances, so we’ll see if there’s another step up for me.”

There are reports Sassuolo boss De Zerbi will be poached by one of the bigger clubs this summer, perhaps even Shakhtar Donetsk.

“De Zerbi is a great coach and we’ll miss him if he does leave, but we’ll see what happens.”
