“I had a few chances to return to Serie A, but I didn’t want to betray Napoli,” Lavezzi told Sky Sport Italia.

“I didn’t want to play in any other European club. I would have never joined Juventus, and I came close to joining Inter twice. The first time before I joined PSG and then before I moved to China.”

But why did he leave Napoli?

“At some point, I wanted to breathe a little bit, I wanted a quieter city, and I opted to join PSG. When we moved to Paris, my son told me that Naples was much more beautiful than Paris, but that we finally had the chance to walk around the city peacefully.

“I’m saying this, but I have a great relationship with Napoli and their fans. I hope I can return one day because I have so many friends over there.”
