Bortolo Mutti warns Palermo they must “play to win” when Udinese come to torn on Saturday evening, trying to forget their 7-0 defeat.

The Friulani earned a shock 7-0 victory at the Stadio Barbera last season, which prompted the sacking of Coach Delio Rossi.

“We know Udinese well, their position in the table is testament to their value. Antonio Di Natale is a crucial reference point, but they have various resources for us to worry about.

“We’ve got to stay in the match and not let ourselves get affected by outside influences. Above all, we must play to win.

“The past does not count. We have many problems today, so there’s no need to add more on.”

Mutti’s job is reportedly on the line after picking up one point from the last four rounds.

“In the last few days we worked on various options and tomorrow I will make my decisions. We tested out both the three-man and four-man defence. We’ve got to play as a team and less as individuals.”

Palermo have brought in Christian Panucci as the new team manager.

“I already respected him as a player, so I think this can be an important introduction for the club. It’ll also represent an important experience for him. I will always provide Panucci with the utmost collaboration. I did think perhaps he could’ve started in a less demanding environment, as Palermo is a tough place to work in.”

Palermo squad: Brichetto, Tzorvas, Viviano, Aguirregaray, Balzaretti, Labrin, Mantovani, Milanovic, Pisano, Acquah, Barreto, Della Rocca, Donati, Ilicic, Migliaccio, Vazquez, Zahavi, Budan, Hernandez, Mehmeti, Miccoli
