Fiorentina have reportedly contacted Gennaro Gattuso and the current Napoli coach has asked for guarantees from the Viola.
SportItalia reports Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso has Rino Gattuso at the top of his wish list and must work to convince the Partenopei coach this summer.
The former Milan coach’s future at Napoli remains uncertain but reports in Italy have claimed he could stay at the Stadio Diego Maradona after a positive run-in.
The broadcaster, however, reveals Fiorentina have contacted the former midfielder, who has replied asking for guarantees ahead of the next campaign.
The club must reportedly confirm the players on contracts expiring in June 2022, like Bartlomiej Dragowski, Nikola Milenkovic and German Pezzella.
Gattuso reportedly wants to see Fiorentina keep Dusan Vlahovic too, as the Serbian striker has been linked with a move to Milan in recent weeks and his current deal expires in June 2023.
The report claims the parties spoke in the last few hours and that the dialogues will continue. If Commisso manages to convince Gattuso, he could end up at the Artemio Franchi ahead of 2021-22.
Fiorentina have been linked with Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi as well, but Shakhtar Donetsk are reportedly in pole position for the Neroverdi tactician.
Gattuso remains the first choice at Fiorentina and the talks have started.
