The former Serie A players Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba and Edinson Cavani could be involved when the Giallorossi travel to Manchester for the first of two legs on Thursday.

Manchester United were eliminated from the Champions League group stages this term and have knocked out Real Sociedad, Milan and Granada on their way to the semi-finals of the Europa League.

The Red Devils reached the same stage last term, when Sevilla beat the Premier League in the one-legged semi-final in Cologne.

Roma are the only Italian side still playing in Europe, having overcome Sporting Braga, Shakhtar Donets and Ajax in the knockout stages.

But the Giallorossi arrive on a winless run of four games, sitting seventh in Serie A, making the Europea League increasingly important for La Lupa.
