Sinisa Mihajlovic hailed 20-year-old Emanuel Vignato for three assists on Rodrigo Palacio’s hat-trick as Bologna held Fiorentina 3-3.
The Rossoblu fought back repeatedly from a Dusan Vlahovic brace and Giacomo Bonaventura volley, with 39-year-old Palacio’s hat-trick.
“We did well, scoring three great goals. They didn’t even have four shots on target and still scored three times,” Mihajlovic told DAZN.
“At the end of the day it was a draw and that’s right. We were penalised by some refereeing decisions, but I don’t want to get into those.”
Vignato is half Palacio’s age, but provided three assists in this afternoon’s match.
“Vignato is an excellent young player. I said that I cannot believe someone like him is not playing for the Italy Under-21 team and hope the coach realises that he ought to be there. Vignato is improving steadily and can do really well.
“You need quality players in order to win games. It wasn’t easy for Vignato today, as he didn’t have much space to move, but he still timed the passes wonderfully.
“I don’t need him to play it simple, I want him to take risks, for him to take responsibility and let his ideas run wild.”
