Bologna have presented the definitive project to restructure the Stadio Dall’Ara, with the club set to shoulder most of the costs.

Much like Fiorentina, Bologna have also decided the best way to proceed with a new stadium is simply by revamping the existing structure in accordance with the local authorities.

“Bologna Stadio SpA, a subsidiary of Bologna FC 1909, confirmed that it today lodged the definitive project for the restructuring of the Stadio Dall’Ara with the modifications agreed upon during the preliminary Services Conference,” read a statement.

“Furthermore, as required by current regulations, the outline of the agreement with the main user, as well as the letter of approval of the financial plan by Credito Sportivo, were also registered.”

The plan is to start work in the summer of 2022, which will take between six and eight months to complete.

The costs are reported to be €100m in total, with €60m of it shouldered by the club, taking the capacity to 27,000 covered seats.

The temporary stadium is expected to cost €12-15m and reduce the capacity to just 17,000.
