Dusan Vlahovic says Fiorentina ‘let out everything we were holding in’ after the 2-0 win over Lazio, achieved with his brace.

He found the net with a tap-in from Cristian Biraghi’s pull-back, then nodded in a corner late on.

“We proved how important this match was for us and we let out everything we were holding in. We’re very happy and proud to have won the game,” Vlahovic told DAZN.

“We showed against a very strong and important club that if we play the way we know how, all together and solid, our qualities will emerge.

“I want to congratulate the whole team. We know how hard we’re working.”

Vlahovic certainly won the head-to-head with Lazio hitman Ciro Immobile.

“It’s difficult for me to talk about Immobile, as he’s a great striker who scored so many goals. I was really motivated to prove something, but I am just starting out, I’ve not achieved anything yet, so these comparisons aren’t really fair. I just hope to reach the number of his goals one day.”

The 21-year-old now has 21 Serie A goals this season, the first foreigner to even reach 20 in the Viola jersey since Gabriel Batistuta and only the fourth in history.

“Our dream now is to get as many points as possible, so we can spend the end of the season with slightly less pressure. It’s all about the team, so I hope to score more goals, but only if they help bring points to the team.”
