Semplici’s men are on a run of five games unbeaten and host Fiorentina only days after a 3-1 win over Benevento.
The coach expects a difficult battle against a Viola in a similar position to his Rossoblu side.
“They have lived a similar season to ours, they didn’t deserve this position for the squad they have,” he said. “I’m a Florentine, purple is my colour, but I’m professional.
“I came here to Cagliari to offer respect and passion. At the moment, Cagliari are my favourite side.”
