Allegri has been linked with a return to Serie A in recent months, with several clubs mentioned as possible destinations for the former Bianconeri coach.

The tactician was also mentioned as a candidate for the Paris Saint-Germain job before Mauricio Pochettino was hired as Thomas Tuchel’s successor.

But Fabrizio Romano claims Allegri wants the Real Madrid job and has been in ‘direct contact’ with the Spanish giants ‘since March’.

Madrid coach Zidane reportedly informed his players he will leave after the season, but later slammed the media and denied the rumours.

The report from Romano reveals Allegri wants the job at the Santiago Bernabeu and is ready to accept a potential offer from the Spanish capital.

The former Juventus coach had also been linked with a return to the Allianz Stadium in recent months, but the latest report from Tuttosport highlights Napoli tactician Gennaro Gattuso as a potential replacement for Andrea Pirlo.
