Marcello Lippi has wasted no time in denying reports that he has agreed to take charge of Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande.

“There is no chance of that at all,” he said when asked about stories suggesting he had agreed a €10m a season deal.

“This rumour first appeared 10 days ago, but there has never been any contact with that club. There is no truth in this story whatsoever, 0.0 per cent of it is true.”

The former Juventus boss hasn’t been in a job since he left the helm of the Italian national side after World Cup 2010 disaster.

“I want to have an experience abroad,” continued the Viareggino. “In China? All adventures are beautiful.

“I’ve had contact from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. I want another experience, but there is nothing lined up yet.”
