The Tuscan side arrive at San Siro comfortably in mid-table on 39 points, eight above the relegation zone and on a three-game unbeaten run.

The Robur are actually on course to beat their previous best points tally in Serie A, which currently stands at 44 points – a total tallied in both 2007-08 and 2008-09. However, Sannino has a lesser number in mind first.

“No doubt we are experiencing a positive run of form, but we need more points because Lecce behind are pushing us hard. Our fixture list is not easy, so we need another result. We must be practical until the end.

“I think that 42 points will be enough to ensure safety, then we’ll see what happens after that. Tomorrow we play against a great team.”

That great team is Andrea Stramaccioni’s seemingly revitalised Nerazzurri.

“They are a team that is still alive, with many champions. I saw their game against Cagliari” data-scaytid=”16″>Cagliari, they fought for 90 minutes, it will not be easy.”

Sannino then reflected on the age difference between himself and Stramaccioni, despite both men having made their Serie A coaching debuts this season.

“I took a longer journey, I have more stories to tell. He is a young man whom everyone says can become a great, he has a great opportunity and I’m happy for him.

“He has proven himself working with the youth team, I will happily shake his hand before the game.”
