“The situation is not dramatic, although we have to take a look over our shoulders. We don’t have to wait until the last day of the season to save ourselves…

“There are a lot of teams in the space of a few points.  We just have to think about survival now and I think that will be achieved with 42 points.

“We’ll go to Rome [to face Roma at the weekend] with the same frame of mind that we went to Milan with and won.”

Della Valle was also questioned about who would be replacing Pantaleo Corvino as the club’s new sporting director in the summer.

“We’ll talk about the future after May 15,” he added. “But I have clear ideas, very clear ideas, about the new sporting director.”

Fiorentina are on 37 points in the table, one clear of Genoa and three ahead of in-form Lecce.

The Viola will also have to play Inter, Atalanta” data-scaytid=”9″>Atalanta, Novara, Lecce and Cagliari” data-scaytid=”11″>Cagliari this term.
