The former Lazio” data-scaytid=”3″>Lazio, Sampdoria” data-scaytid=”4″>Sampdoria and England manager had been on the bench at the Stadio Artemio Franchi from 1987-89.

He was spotted in Florence today, fuelling rumours he is set to take over the team next season after Delio Rossi’s dismissal.

“I am always tied to this splendid city. My son lives here and I came to visit. I’m here on vacation and not for talks with Fiorentina,” the Swede told the Corriere Fiorentino newspaper.

“The team is going through a bad campaign, but the Viola will be safe from the drop. Of that I am convinced.

“As for finding their new Coach, Fiorentina will do that calmly and not rush the decision.”
