Italy’s Euro 2012 squad visited the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland on Wednesday morning.

Players and staff were given an emotional tour of the area which is now a memorial for those who died in the Holocaust during World War II.

The Azzurri were shown around by the museum’s director and were also spoken to by some of those who survived death at the facility.

Italy captain Gigi Buffon left a green, white and red floral tribute, while everyone of the players lit a candle in memory of the dead.
