Astori rejects Spartak Moscow

Cagliari have reportedly turned down a €12m offer for defender Davide Astori from Russians Spartak Moscow.

The centre-back returned to Italy this weekend after Cesare Prandelli opted to keep hold of Andrea Barzagli for Euro 2012.

Astori had been flown in to Poland on stand-by to join the squad if Barzagli did not recover from a calf strain.

According to numerous media outlets, Cagliari received a €12m offer for the defender from Russian club Spartak Moscow.

However, President Massimo Cellino rejected the proposal outright and insisted he will not be released.

Astori is also of interest to Roma, Milan and Juventus.
