If Spain beat Ireland this evening, then both La Roja and Croatia will qualify for the quarter-finals with a 2-2 draw.

It is exactly the same situation that saw the Azzurri knocked out in Euro 2004.

“I’m sure Spain will try to beat Croatia whatever happens. We are professionals and I doubt there would be an agreement at the Euros.”
