Chievo confirm that they are yet to agree with Genoa on the co-ownership of Francesco Acerbi and add a couple of new names to the list tracking the player.

Acerbi finds himself the subject of rumoured interest from Milan and Inter, after impressing last term with the Mussi Volanti.

However, before negotiations can begin, his co-ownership between Chievo and Genoa must be worked out, with their so-far failed attempts to reach agreement threatening to take the matter to a blind auction later this week.

Genoa have already admitted that should they re-sign the player then he is likely to switch to Milan, but Chievo sporting director Giovanni Sartori says the choice is wider for the player if the Gialloblu sign him.

“This week should be the decisive week,” confirmed Sartori to TuttuJuve. “We have to solve the co-ownership issue and when we have, we will better understand the player’s future.

“It is not a mystery that Milan, Inter, Juventus and Roma are interested, but that’s not the debate right now.

“First, we must understand who will hold his registration and then see which is the best option in question.

“Is it necessary to avoid the envelope bids [against Genoa]? Precisely. It is an urgent necessity for us and Genoa and therefore we are working to find an agreement.”
