Palermo's Federico Balzaretti and Napoli's Andrea Dossena are both of interest to cash strapped Milan.

The Rossoneri are having to adopt a low key, low cost transfer campaign after turning down a €47m bid for defender Thiago Silva from Paris Saint Germain.

Nonetheless they are keen to bolster their left-back options after Taye Taiwo and Djamel Mesbah flopped last season and Gianluca Zambrotta departed.

The first target is Balzaretti, the Palermo defender who has impressed for Italy at Euro 2012. The Corriere dello Sport suggest that Adriano Galliani will approach Palermo with a swap deal involving Mesbah.

Rosanero President Maurizio Zamparini has previously stressed that Balzaretti's only possible destination should he leave is Paris, where his wife works as a ballerina.

Alternatively, the Diavolo will pursue former Liverpool defender Dossena, although that move is dependent on Napoli's lengthy pursuit of Lyon's Aly Cissokho reaching a successful conclusion first.
