Italy’s 1982 World Cup hero Paolo Rossi believes the Azzurri are good enough to beat England in their Euro 2012 quarter-final clash.

Italy’s 1982 World Cup hero Paolo Rossi believes the Azzurri are good enough to beat England in their Euro 2012 quarter-final clash.

Although the national side have only picked up one win and two draws in the competition so far, Rossi has faith in La Nazionale ahead of Sunday’s tie in Kiev.

“It’ll be a real game between two important nations,” stated the former Juventus striker. “We have a good chance of progressing.

“I don’t see a great England side, while Italy are a team which is growing as the last few games have demonstrated.”

Manchester City ace Mario Balotelli is expected to return to the starting XI, but Rossi still has his doubts about the centre-forward.

“He’s a complete player when it comes to his technique and build, but not in terms of his mentality,” the 1982 top scorer concluded.
