Sulley Muntari could reportedly have his wages halved as punishment for suffering a serious knee injury while on vacation.

The Ghanaian midfielder is out for five to six months after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.

It’s rumoured he did the damage while playing beach soccer with friends, something that contravenes the Rossoneri guidelines.

There are now reports Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani is furious and prepared to halve Muntari’s wages.

This would reduce the pay packet from €3m per season to €1.5m, the cash going to help fund a new midfielder as his replacement.

The club has already secured that figure, bringing in Kevin Constant on loan from Genoa.
