Thiago Motta is desperate to win his place back in the Italian side for Thursday’s Euro 2012 semi-final against Germany.

The Brazilian-born player started all three group games, but was left out of the penalty win against England on Sunday after suffering with a hamstring problem.

“I’m fit, I’m well and I want to be there against Germany,” the man who left Inter for Paris Saint-Germain in January stated.

“England? They just shut up shop for the entire game, whereas we played and proved that we are a superior side.”

Motta’s chances of appearing may be on the increase given the fitness concerns of Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.
