Udinese send Torje to Granada

Following on from Antonio Floro Flores, Udinese have strengthened feeder club Granada further by loaning them Gabriel Torje.

The young forward arrived at the Zebrette last summer with the reputation as the ‘Romanian Lionel Messi’, for his similar height and penchant for dribbling.

The 22-year-old was given an extended run in the first team at the start of last season, but fell away towards the latter stages and had been linked with a possible loan this summer for the experience.

That comes with the switch to La Liga outfit Granada, which has been confirmed today, just 24 hours on from teammate Floro Flores’ move between the clubs.

“Udinese Calcio announces that it has transferred on a temporary basis (until June 30, 2013) the sporting rights of player Gabriel Andrei Torje to the Spanish club Granada Club de Futbol,” read the Zebrette’s official statement on the matter.

Granada have in recent seasons loaned a high number of players from Udinese, with the two clubs linked in a partnership agreement signed a few seasons ago. The major connection, however, is that both clubs are owned by Giampaolo Pozzo.
