Dino Zoff is adamant that Italy taught Germany a thing or two about how to play football in last night’s epic Euro 2012 victory.

The Azzurri progressed to the Final after collecting a 2-1 win in a game where they had great chances to finish the tie off sooner.

“We saw a great Italy against Germany,” Zoff, who played in the 1968 success and bossed Italy to the Final in Euro 2000, told TMW.

“The Italians won comfortably by giving German football a lesson. They feared us from the beginning – you could tell by the side that they selected at the start.”

Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli insisted pre-match that his side would try to play their game and that was rewarded with two fine Mario Balotelli efforts.

“Prandelli was behind this masterpiece,” the former Juventus ‘keeper added. “He’s been doing really well with the national team thanks to the great work he has done over the last two years.

“Mario did well to transform what he had done well in the previous games into goals against Germany. He went close in the matches before – let’s hope he can do well against Spain.”
