ADL silences Cavani questions

Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis has reacted angrily to questions about the future of Edinson Cavani. “You journalists are peasants.”

Cavani continues to be linked with a big summer move as rumours persist that the Uruguayan is wanted by Juventus and Manchester City.

De Laurentiis was bombarded with questions outside of the Lega offices in Milan on Wednesday and he was in no mood to talk.

“You journalists are the great peasants of Italian football,” he said. “All you are interested in is money.

“In life, you can’t just talk about finances. Us cinema people are great gentlemen because we don’t care about the contracts given to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie…

“All you are bothered about is how much a player earns and all you do is drive up the costs.”

Reports are suggesting that Cavani’s agents are trying to get their striker a new improved deal to stay at the Stadio San Paolo.
