Contrary to reports through the summer, Massimo Donati will not be leaving Palermo this summer, says his agent.

The midfielder arrived in Siciliy only last January, but has been linked with a quick departure as the Rosanero look to rebuild the squad.

However, his representative has suggested that instead of being cast out during this rebuilding, Palermo are going to be giving him a major role in the team.

“Donati has been deemed unsellable by President Zamparini,” Andrea D’Amico told Sky Sport on Wednesday.

“He was an important reinforcement bought in the market in January, arriving from Bari to provide balance and strength to the midfield. At this time, Palermo are not willing to lose him.

“In Sicily he has also now found his former sporting director Perinetti, who wanted him for Bari when he was at Celtic, so I just do not think he will leave.

“At most, we will work together with Palermo to build something around Donati. But, Massimo will definitively be a part of a landmark season for the Rosanero.”
