Zenit back for Pepe

A year on from their first attempts at signing the winger, Zenit St Petersburg are reportedly back to discuss Simone Pepe with Juventus.

The winger’s agent revealed that rumours last summer of Zenit’s interest in the former Udinese man were true and that only Antonio Conte’s intervention halted his departure to Russia.

Whilst reports just two months ago reflected Juve’s believed ambition to hand the 28-year-old an improved contract, Zenit have reportedly re-entered the frame.

Tuttosport suggest that Luciano Spalletti’s team are to launch a second offensive this summer to try to lure the versatile attacker away from Turin.

Pepe appeared 31 times in the League for Conte’s side last term, netting six times.
