The Argentine was understood today to be holding talks with the Felsinei over a proposed two-year contract and was allegedly offered a €650,000-a-year salary.

Whilst his Roma contract has a year left to run, after being automatically extended upon playing 25 games last term, he is reportedly not favoured by new Coach Zdenek Zeman and free to talk to other clubs.

However, reports indicate that the centre-back has turned down Bologna’s advances and instead has opted to travel north with the rest of the Roma squad for their pre-season training retreat at Riscone.
