Genoa and Siena will hold a ‘short meeting’ to resolve the co-ownership issue over in-demand striker Mattia Destro.
After an impressive season in front of goal for the Robur, the forward has found himself at the centre of a tug-of-war between the two clubs, over which can then sell him on to any one from a long list of admirers.
Genoa originally believed that they had an agreement with Siena to take back the player from his 2011-12 loan, but Siena then exercised their right to purchase 50 per cent of his registration.
Having explained last week the reasoning behind that late change of mind as being nothing more than a precaution due to a power-cut hitting original plans, President Massimo Mezzaroma has today promised that the entire matter will be resolved in the coming days.
“I think that we’ll have a short meeting with [Genoa President Enrico] Preziosi to resolve the issue,” he tld Radio Radio.
“We want to get along with the Rossoblu, but Mattia is one of the best strikers, with perspective for the future, and for the national team.
“We would like to close the controversy concerning him before the weekend - the player has no favourites, he is just looking for a top club.”
