The 38-year-old striker will have had another birthday by the time the 2012-13 season starts, but after his departure from Milan this summer, has reportedly stated his intention to continue playing.

Rumours suggest that he has a choice between Atalanta and Watford to do so, or to take a coaching role back with the Rossoneri’s youth team.

L’Eco di Bergamo are reporting today that the veteran has revealed that he hopes to return to Atalanta, which represent a ‘choice of the heart’. Sources close to the player, who is currently on holiday, are quoted as saying the Orobici are his intended destination.

Inzaghi spent the 1996-97 season with Atalanta and picked up the Capocannoniere title with his 24 goals for the campaign. That total remains a club record for a single season at the club.
