Bologna Coach Stefano Pioli says a transfer for highly sought after Gaston Ramirez is by no means guaranteed to occur.

The 21-year-old Uruguayan has spent the last two seasons at the Italian club, where his impressive forward play has been rumoured to have attracted the likes of Liverpool, amongst other clubs.

However, Pioli believes that the attacking midfielder could stay with his side. “Ramirez is one of our players. I think he’s very strong and is growing,” the former Palermo tactician told Sky Sport Italia.

“I hope he stays with us. In any case the club has assured me that if he leaves, an important player will be brought in to replace him.

“He will stay until there are offers worthy of his value.”
