Caceres welcomes Lucio to Juve

Martin Caceres has welcomed Lucio to Juventus despite the fact that he will bring more competition for a centre-back spot.

Caceres has been used as a right-back by Antonio Conte in Turin, but he has admitted that he prefers to play in the middle.

“Lucio is a great defender and has enjoyed success wherever he’s gone,” the January arrival stated when asked about the now former Inter player.

“He’s won everything in his career and wants to win more here at Juve. It’s important to have experienced champions like him around in order to face a long season.”

The Turin giants won the Scudetto last term and the Uruguayan international is eyeing more success in 2012-13.

“It will be different to last year,” the South American added. “We’ll be playing in the Champions League and it’s a very difficult competition.

“Having said that, we’ve got great desire and hunger to do as well as possible,” the 25-year-old continued.

“The Treble? I think we can do better than last season. Obviously our aim is to win the Italian championship and the Champions League.”
