Napoli beat Bayern Munich

Napoli stunned Champions League Finalists Bayern Munich with a thrilling 3-2 friendly victory.

The Partenopei got their pre-season off to a fantastic start with today’s prestigious win thanks to goals from Paolo Cannavaro, Goran Pandev and Lorenzo Insigne.

Bayern took the lead when Alaba tapped in after great work from Arjen Robben.

The Italians fought back with Insigne’s header testing the goalkeeper, while Edu Vargas’ angled drive thumped the post.

Moments later, Cannavaro equalised with a spectacular scissor-kick on the stroke of half-time.

Pandev came off the bench and put Napoli in front within five minutes of his introduction, finishing off a powerful run from Juan Camilo Zuniga.

It didn’t last long, as Bayern got it back to 2-2 when Salvatore Aronica gave away a free kick from the edge of the box that Shaqiri curled into the top corner.

It still wasn’t over, as in the final stages Under-21 international Insigne got the winner.

Marek Hamsik and Gianvito Vitale both had efforts parried during the move until Insigne pounced on the loose ball to finish it off.
