Genoa have officially signed Julian Alberto Velazquez from Independiente after he underwent a medical.
The Argentine centre-back flew in from South America this morning to meet with the Genoa directors, finalise the details of his contract and have tests with the medical staff.

The Argentine centre-back flew in from South America this morning to meet with the Genoa directors, finalise the details of his contract and have tests with the medical staff.
The club has not yet revealed how long the contract is or the terms of the agreement with Independiente.
Velazquez is a 21-year-old defender who has already won the Copa Sudamericana with Independiente in 2010, scoring a goal in the Final.
He also has one senior cap for Argentina and is thought to have cost in the region of €1.8m.
