Lazio Coach Vladimir Petkovic is “not remotely worried” after defeats to Siena and Torino, but adds “we didn’t try to win.”

The Biancocelesti’s summer preparations are not going well, as in the last 24 hours they have lost friendly matches 1-0 to Siena and 3-0 to Torino.

“We have had 18 almost optimal days of training, but it would’ve been better if we had won these two games, or at least tried to win them,” said the tactician.

“I hope the team continues to work like this and I am not remotely worried. On the other hand, it is better to see certain mistakes now, as in two games we conceded three goals due to the offside trap.”

Petkovic is in his first Serie A experience and has chopped and changed his approach.

“Today it was a 4-4-2 mixed with a 4-1-4-1 and a 4-2-3-1. I wanted to see how we moved without the ball.

“I have often played with three strikers in different positions, though. Now I have a clearer picture of the situation and from now on we will try to focus on specific systems.”

However, Petkovic warns he is not happy with the squad at his disposal.

“We have too many forwards. We must think about giving players out to different clubs so they get the chance to play.

“Once Ederson, Miroslav Klose and Cristian Brocchi have recovered, they can give us a hand. We’ll see later on if we manage to sign anyone else. Right now I must concentrate on my players.”
