Francesco Lodi has committed his future to Catania on the day that he is being linked with a move to Milan.

Reports earlier today suggested that the Rossoneri were looking at the possibility of making a bid for the playmaker.

However, the midfielder has insisted that if he does leave his current club then he won’t be the reason for a departure.

“I’m eternally grateful to Catania for giving me a chance,” the 28-year-old is quoted as saying. “If I do go then it will be because the club want to sell me – I won’t ask them to let me go.”

The former Udinese and Empoli player moved to Catania in January 2011 after a spell at Frosinone in Serie B.
