Sannino, who last season led Siena to safety in the top-flight, is full of admiration for Walter Mazzarri's team, considering them contenders for this seasons Scudetto.

“My team will be up for it against the Azzurri,” the former Spezia” data-scaytid=”7″>Spezia midfielder told Radio Kiss Kiss. “But Mazzarri's team have what it takes to do well this season. The squad at his disposal is first class, and they're capable of fighting for the championship.”

“We all saw the Super Cup game in Beijing,” the former Varese boss continued. “I don't want to talk about the contentious decisions, but Napoli showed they can be on the same level as Juventus.”

Sannino played down his influence on Sunday evening's Serie A opener, despite holding the Partenopei to a 1-1 draw in Serie A and pushing them close in the Coppa Italia semi-finals whilst in charge of Siena .

“Do Napoli struggle against my teams? Not really. Last year against the Azzurri we were humble and I think I did well with Siena.

“They have some great players and I hope I can find them here in Sicily.”

Sannino then discussed his charge Paulo Dybala and Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne, two youngsters tipped to light up the encounter at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.

“Dybala is talented, while Insigne has played in Serie C and B, but has shown he knows how to play in Italy.”

The new Rosanero Coach concluded with praise for new Roma boss Zdenek Zeman.

“He is an icon. It was a shame that he was out of football for so many years, but now he's at Roma he'll prove why he's so good.”
