A passionate President Andrea Della Valle celebrated Fiorentina’s last-gasp win over Udinese and pledged “Stevan Jovetic will stay and we’ll sign an important striker.”

The patron was in the stands for today’s 2-1 victory, sealed by a late Jovetic brace.

“Finally we saw entertaining football again. I am happy for everyone at the club, as after months of sacrifices we really needed a game like this,” declared Della Valle.

“We went through some dramatic months in Florence, so today I let myself go. I was happy to see the fans joyful again, as this victory is for them.

“We deserved to win against a side that is on paper stronger than us. We’re still only 95 per cent complete, as next week we’ll sign an important striker. Jovetic? Of course he will stay.”

Adem Ljajic also made his Serie A comeback after he was attacked in the dugout by former Coach Delio Rossi in May.

“I am pleased for Ljajic, as Florence has forgiven him. We suffered so much over the last few months, but are now united again.”
