Inter boss Andrea Stramaccioni has failed to rule out the possibility of a Douglas Maicon sale before the end of the week.

The right-back is only contracted to the club until June 2013 and he was omitted from the squad which beat Pescara 3-0 on Sunday.

“If he stays, I'll be happy, but it's an individual thing,” Stramaccioni noted. “He's coming to the end of his contract.

"Inter and Maicon have a wonderful relationship and it's not about what he’s worth. Let's see how things develop…”

The Brazilian was signed in the summer of 2006 from Monaco. He’s been linked with Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

If Maicon stays and doesn’t have his contract extended then the 31-year-old could leave the club on a free transfer next summer.
