Walter Gargano says he’s realised a dream by joining Italian giants Inter from Serie A side Napoli.

“Inter are well followed in Uruguay and it was a dream of mine as a child to wear this shirt,” he said at his official unveiling on Tuesday.

“As a kid I always played as Inter on the PlayStation,” the South American added. “And I always played against Juventus…”” data-scaytid=”4″>Juventus…”

The Old Lady are great rivals of the Nerazzurri, but the midfielder insists that his new club have nothing to fear from La Signora.

“I think we’re at the same level as Juventus, perhaps higher, and they are the reigning Italian champions,” he added. “I think we can be competitive in all three competitions.”

Gargano has joined the Beneamata on loan after he feared that he would spend large parts of the season on the bench at Napoli this term following a change in system.

“I had some great years at Napoli where I gained experience, but now I am at the most important club in the world,” added the 28-year-old.

“All of my new teammates have been splendid, they’ve all welcomed me. I’ve been made to feel at home – especially by the South Americans.”

Gargano made his debut in the 3-0 win over Pescara on Sunday and he’s put himself at the total disposal of boss Andrea Stramaccioni.

“I’ll play where the Coach wants me to play. He really wanted me at this club and I want to demonstrate that I know how to play for a team like Inter.”
