Inter defender Matias Silvestre has defended his early performances at San Siro and discussed the club's Scudetto prospects.

Silvestre and central defensive partner Andrea Ranocchia were caught out by Roma's speedy attackers in Inter's 3-1 loss to the Giallorossi ten days ago but the summer arrival is nonetheless pleased with his form.

“I've adapted very quickly and am satisfied with my performances,” remarked the former Catania and Palermo stopper.

“I've played five out of the first six games from the first minute and think I did well. You have not yet seen the best of me, but that's normal. Soon I will be at my top level and people will understand what I'm worth.”

The Nerazzurri are considered amongst the favourites for the Scudetto after their late spending spree, but according to Silvestre their focus is simply to get back on track against Torino this weekend.

“The Championship? We just want to redeem ourselves for the defeat to Roma,” the 27-year-old informed Sky Sport Italia.

Inter visit Torino this Sunday evening, and there are rumours that Nigerian Joel Obi could get a rare start at the Stadio Olimpico ahead of Freddy Guarin, who is struggling for fitness.
